Exeter St David's Station was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and opened in 1844. Today it is the most important of Exeter's stations. Through trains from London to Penzance pass through it, it is also the terminus for South West trains from London Waterloo (West of England Main line). Trains also run to Barnstaple (Tarka line) and Exmouth (Avocet line).
