Somewhat rusted Larssen piles presumably intended to prevent water leakage through the earth dam.
Golden Acre Park, Adel, Leeds :: SE2641

Advertised as covering an area of 137 acres (rather than the one implied by the name), Golden Acre has been a public park owned by Leeds City Council since 1945, prior to which it was an unsuccessful commercial venture in the 1930s. Given how many visitors it now attracts, the Council could probably make a tidy sum charging a modest admission fee (or at least charging for parking, which surprisingly is free).

The attractions in the park include impressive floral displays, themed 'demonstration' gardens, a wildfowl lake with observation hut, cafe, and extensive paths in both wooded and open areas.
