Alone in the Fields - St. Chad's Chapel
Alone in the Fields - St. Chad's Chapel
Known as "Old" St. Chad's due to "New" St. Chad's being built in 1863.
"New" St. Chad's is approximately 1 Kilometre away next to the A41 trunk Road.
There had been a church on this sight for hundreds of years before this was built between 1689 to 1691.
There is no road to St. Chad's Chapel and it only available to reach by using footpaths.
Sometimes during the Winter months burials could not take place due to the difficulty of carrying the coffins to the graveyard.
