The Voxter Centre
Formerly the Manse, and repurposed for less peaceful uses during both world wars, the building was eventually willed to the education authority as an Outdoor Centre in the late sixties. Now run by a trust, the remit is interpreted fairly broadly as a self-catering residential centre for the use of groups, both local and from far afield. I first came across it whilst on a sea kayaking course run by Glenmore Lodge nine years ago and returned in 2018 with a club group of mostly sea kayakers but the odd walker and cyclist. The facilities really are excellent for such a group, lacking only in internet access (or mobile phone signal) for those vital weather forecasts.
