J1984 : "Avoiding low bridge" sign, Dunadry (July 2018)
taken 6 years ago, 3 km from Muckamore, Co Antrim, Northern Ireland
The Belfast – Londonderry/Portrush railway crosses the minor Dunadry Road and the Sixmilewater by means of a four-arch stone bridge. The line opened in 1848 so the bridge may be assumed to be contemporary. Dargan was the contractor but the name of the civil engineer, who designed the bridge, does not seem to have been recorded. There is a height restriction of 9ft/2.6 metres.
A collection of photographs showing road signs and marking in their context. It exists as a matter of record only, has no connection with any official body and does not claim to be a definitive or legally-binding guide. The official version is the Highway Code for Northern Ireland.
