HY3414 : Causeway to the islet in Loch of Wasdale

taken 6 years ago, near to Finstown, Mainland, Orkney Islands, Scotland

With normal water levels, this causeway would be under water, but a long dry spell has left it high and dry.
The islet was obviously used for something, but nobody knows what. Local tradition has it that there was once a chapel here, but there is no hard evidence to support it. The cairn is a fairly recent addition.
