The bay platform is occupied by a single-car diesel unit preparing to depart on the shuttle service to Cardiff Bay. Unit no. 153353 is of British Rail heritage, a Sprinter train built by Leyland and subsequently converted by Hunslet-Barclay to single-car configuration.
