Old sheep fank in Achtercairn
Old sheep fank in Achtercairn
"Fank" is the Scots word for an enclosure into which sheep are gathered, e.g. for shearing. This 19th century fank sits next to the old Gairloch - Poolewe road, now part of the network of Achtercairn paths.
