Lough Lene is a 5 sq.km glacial lake in County Westmeath, south of the village of Fore.
The lough has very good quality water and was the first Irish lake to get a blue flag status.Swimming, sailing and wind surfing are popular on the lough, jet skiing and water skiing are prohibited. The lough is a Special Area of Conservation, supporting a wide range of plant life and birds.
