Waiting for the arrival of what will be the first ever train this century to Stockport from Stalybridge. A "parliamentary service" has run for many years on the line through Reddish South and Denton Link Since the 1990s it has run once a week but only from Stockport to Stalybridge. Now a new timetable SJ9195 : Changes to train times has been introduced. A train will leave Stalybridge on Saturdays at 0846, calling at Guide Bridge, Denton and Reddish South, arriving in Stockport 0909. The return will leave Stockport at 0945 arriving in Stalybridge 1006. The first scheduled service on 26th May was cancelled due to a rail strike so the new service actually started on 2nd June.
