Airfield Battle HQ: EDoB ID: S0015881

An unusual design, this partially submerged bunker was the second BHQ to have been built at Montrose, and is the only one that survives. Its design appears to have been based on that of a Stanton air raid shelter, although it differs in that the main body of the structure is angular, whereas the Stanton shelter is cylindrical. Similarities exist however in the design of the entrance, and what appears to be the emergency exit at the other end.
