NJ1415 : Conglomerate Stack

taken 5 years ago, 3 km from Delnabo, Moray, Scotland

Conglomerate Stack
Conglomerate Stack
The brownish rock in the centre is a pillar of Lower Old Red Sandstone conglomerate formed by a landslide that detached it from the cliff and slid it a few metres downhill. Behind it is grey mica-schist on the other side of the Ailnack Gorge.
