TQ1719 : River Adur: Upstream of Hatterell Bridge

taken 8 years ago, near to West Grinstead, West Sussex, England

River Adur: Upstream of Hatterell Bridge
River Adur: Upstream of Hatterell Bridge
The name Hatterell Bridge comes from the drawbridge that used to be here and the long since demolished Hatterell farmstead.

This view is taken looking upstream from the current bridge, and shows the triple flume arrangement that has low and high flow weirs. On the day of the photograph the level of the flowing water was high and using all three flumes. On the right is the Environment Agency gauging station hut.
