Church of St Mary Magdalene, Clitheroe

A grade II* listed Anglican parish church (list entry 1362179) at a high point in the town centre (but lower than the earlier castle).

A church was on this site from 1135, if not earlier. The tower dates from the 15th century, with a spire added in 1844 and rebuilt in 2012. The nave is from 1829, with typically Georgian galleries. Internal furnishings are late 20th century following a fire in 1979.
