The Swanley to Sevenoaks Bat & Ball line was opened on 2nd June 1862 by the London, Chatham & Dover Railway Company. Electric services between Bickley and Sevenoaks were introduced on 6th January 1935.

This is the view from the footpath between Eynsford and Eagle Heights, followed by the Darent Valley Path. Eynsford Viaduct carries the line across the River Darenth. The viaduct is Grade II Listed - see LinkExternal link

Incredibly, considering how peaceful this spot is, it was proposed before the war to open a four-platform station between here and Eynsford Tunnel and build an airport which the station would serve - see LinkExternal link

Both Southeastern trains from Ashford and Thameslink from Sevenoaks can be seen crossing the viaduct.
