Bomb Store perimeter road

The view southeast along the concrete perimeter track surrounding the Bomb Store in the appropriately named Target Wood. Long straight stretches and gentle curves were features of these roadways that were designed to accommodate trains of tractor towed bomb trolleys. At various places along the route of the perimeter road can be seen a number of earth banks or bunds, doubtless for blast containment in the event of an explosion.
