The Assembly Chamber, Parliament Buildings
The Assembly Chamber, Parliament Buildings
With the assembly currently in political deadlock, and no debates taking place, this chamber is currently unused, although the public are admitted on guided tours. Normally the assembly members would sit here - the majority party on the left in this view; the speaker's chair is at the end. This chamber was destroyed by a fire caused by an electrical fault in January 1995 but was subsequently restored. The wall panels are of English walnut.
