Willersley Castle
Willersley Castle is a classical mansion with romanticised battlements and turrets. Built in 1789 for the cotton spinning entrepeneur Sir Richard Arkwright, proprietor of the nearby mills. It remained in the ownership of the Arkwright family until 1928 when it was purchased by the Wesley Guild for use as a Guild hotel and conference centre, a role it still fulfills.
