J2433 : Drumlins in the Mourne Foreland

taken 7 months ago, 4 km from Kilcoo, Northern Ireland

Drumlins in the Mourne Foreland
Drumlins in the Mourne Foreland
The drumlins in the fore- and middleground are part of the extensive crescent of glacial drift which was laid down between the Slieve Croob Range and the Mournes by the Quaternary Ice Sheet and moulded and eroded to form the characteristic "basket of eggs" topography. Wetland hollows, such as that on the right, separate the drumlins.
