Looking over Largs to Bute and Cowal from Douglas Park topograph at Auchenbranchan.

Douglas Park Topograph is trig point TP7637.

The topograph points out 94 landmarks and directions. It is a truly magnificent panorama with the Cumbraes and Bute in the foreground, the rugged peaks of Arran in the middle distance, with Kintyre lying beyond. On a clear day you can see the Paps of Jura some 46 miles away.
To the north lie the Arrochar Alps and to the south is Ailsa Craig.

Incidentally, the former president of the
Scottish Ramblers Association, Thomas Lockhead, had his ashes scattered on the hillside in
1938.
