SJ2785 : South Chapel, Landican Cemetery

taken 5 years ago, 3 km from Irby, Wirral, England

South Chapel, Landican Cemetery
South Chapel, Landican Cemetery
Landican became the main cemetery for Birkenhead and its environs as the previous Flaybrick cemetery became full. A crematorium and three chapels were built in 1934 and were designed by Richard Furniss. Each of the chapels was to serve a particular community - catholic, protestant and non-denominational. I believe that the South Chapel is for catholics.
