Spill Weir for Garnlydan Reservoir
Spill Weir for Garnlydan Reservoir
There has been a reservoir at this site since the early 18th century originally to serve the Nantyglo Iron Works. In the early 20th century it was expanded to 20 hectares and served the steel works at Ebbw Vale. When that was closed in 2002, Dwr Cymru Welsh Water took over the site and it is now used to supply fresh water. This view is of the spill weir and gauge at the eastern end of the reservoir at Blaen Clydach.
