A lodge for Penshurst Place
Penshurst Place dates from 1341 and the Great Hall is a wonderful example of medieval architecture. It was the birthplace of the Elizabethan poet, courtier and soldier, Sir Philip Sidney. The original house is one of the most complete examples of 14th-century domestic architecture in England still in its original location.
This view across Penshurst Road shows the attractive Gothic lodge dating from 1840.
