Isolated tree on the Penshurst Estate
Penshurst Place dates from 1341 and the Great Hall is a wonderful example of medieval architecture. It was the birthplace of the Elizabethan poet, courtier and soldier, Sir Philip Sidney. The original house is one of the most complete examples of 14th-century domestic architecture in England still in its original location.

This view is from the Eden Valley Walk near Well Place Farm. Although this was February 2019, the end of the month produced the hottest winter days in the UK on record. This was also a very warm day.
