View North towards the Newtown Road Border Crossing
The road climbs north into Northern Ireland in the middle distance. Also known as the Old Dublin Road, the crossing was spiked and cratered by the British Army during the Troubles. As the Dublin Road is only a field's width away no effort was made of the locals to reopen the road until after the peace process.
