This is Watergate Bridge - Droichead Gheata an Uisce - crossing the River Clashawley An Ghlais Alainn on Watergate Street in Fethard. (OS of Ireland Discovery 67). It is a five arched limestone bridge dating from about 1600 and in part may be mediaeval in date. The Clashawley rises at Laffansbridge (S 1946 OS of Ireland Discovery 66) and flows through Fethard on the way to its meeting with the River Anner (An Annuir) (S 2430 OS of Ireland Discovery 67) away to the south-east of Fethard.
