The former White Lamp Inn (2) - two plaques, 87 Westgate Street, Gloucester
The top plaque gives the former pub's name (White Lamp Inn) and the date of 1900 when it was built. The building actually replaced the previous pub on the same site. Below is a plaque showing the seated figure of Britannia with trident. This has become rather weathered with the passage of time. This figure was a registered trade mark of the Ind Coope brewery who built the 1900 pub.
SO8218 : Gloucester docks dry dock Gloucester dry docks. Interesting tug that looks to have a wooden hull. Does anybody know more. The adjoining pumphouse contains a large centrifugal pump that usec to be steam driven.
