taken 6 years ago, near to Scarcliffe, Derbyshire, England

Old reservoir near Roseland Wood
Old reservoir near Roseland Wood

The photograph shows the closest view possible from a public footpath of what were two reservoirs fed by the fledgling River Poulter. The reservoirs are contained within a small woodland just to the north of Roseland Wood, roughly halfway between Birch Hill Plantation and Langwith Wood.

An OS map dated 1892-14 from the National Library of Scotland LinkExternal link shows the two reservoirs with the comment 'Blackwell U.D.C.'
