Footbridge over disused railway
Footbridge over disused railway

This bridge carries a public footpath between Scarcliffe (ahead) and Langwith Wood (behind the viewpoint).

The railway in the cutting below was built by the Lancashire, Derbyshire and East Coast Railway, although the only section to be completed was between Chesterfield Marketplace and Lincoln. This section of the track closed in 1951. There is no public access to the trackbed.
