The main church building and hall have already been demolished and workers are now removing the upper part of the spire stone by stone. The Grade B listed church in Gala Park was built in 1880 and closed in 2005. The owners were given permission to demolish the church after proving the building was beyond the point of economic repair. It will certainly be a loss to the roofscape of the town NT4936 : St Aidan's Church steeple, Galashiels.
