Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway
The Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway - the trading name of the Yorkshire Dales Railway Museum Trust - was initially opened in 1981 with one station at Embsay and a short length of the former Midland Railway line from Skipton to Leeds via Ilkley. By 1987 it had been extended to a new halt at Holywell (at which time it became known as Embsay Steam Railway) and later to Stoneacre Loop. Bolton Abbey railway station was rebuilt in the 1990s (opened 1998), with the current extent of the line being from there to just west of Embsay station, a total length of about 4 miles.
