TM4456 : Looking upstream at the curve in the River Alde

taken 5 years ago, near to Aldeburgh, Suffolk, England

Looking upstream at the curve in the River Alde
On the left, the south bank protrudes as Stanny Point. Cob Island, still marked on the map, no longer shows above the high-tide level. On the right, the disused jetty linked to the former brickworks. Along the river frontage, a series of expensive houses mean that the public right of way has to swerve inland away from the river frontage.
