St John's Cleckheaton - tower
St John's Cleckheaton - tower
The church is set back from the high street but the tower is tall enough to be a landmark. It is the oldest part of the church building, dating from 1830-32.
Church of St John the Evangelist, Cleckheaton

An Anglican parish church, currently one of three in Cleckheaton. The building is listed grade II (list entry 1134593). The tower dates from 1830-32, the chancel from 1864 and the nave 1886-8 by William Swinden Barber. In recent years it has been reordered to provide facilities at the rear of the nave, but the pews remain.
