Deanery Tower, Hadleigh (Suffolk)
Standing just to the west of the parish church the tower was built in 1495 by Archdeacon Pykenham and is all that is left of his former palace. Pykenham, an ecclesiastical lawyer, was Archdeacon of Suffolk between 1472-97 and was responsible for the building of another, still surviving gatehouse in Ipswich in 1471.
