Chee Dale: stepping stones on the riverside path
The cliffs on either side of the river have hemmed it in somewhat, meeting the water with no space for a riverbank. Stepping stones have therefore been laid to allow the public footpath to continue along the riverside.

The overhanging cliff does not aid headroom for the very tall, but it is helpful as something to grab hold of on one's way across.
