Taken at the top end of the Esplanade, outside the North Euston Hotel, this is the Lower Light or Beach Lighthouse, a Grade II listed building, in Fleetwood, Lancashire.
This should be captioned The North Euston Hotel. Fleetwood was a planned town laid out by the architect Dedcimus Burton for Sir Peter Hesketh-Fleetwood. There was to be a radial pattern of streets centred on a high sand dune 'The Mount'. For a time the town was the northern railhead on the London-Glasgow route and a steamship carried passengers on to Scotland. The North Euston Hotel was part of the great plan to develop the port and resort facilities.
