SN0926 : Maenclochog Tunnel, Pembrokeshire

taken 22 years ago, near to Maenclochog, Pembrokeshire/Sir Benfro, Wales

Maenclochog Tunnel, Pembrokeshire
Maenclochog Tunnel, Pembrokeshire
This is the south portal of a tunnel on a branch that served North Pembrokeshire by forming a loop off the GWR main line to Fishguard Harbour.
During World War it was used as target practice by the RAF and the USAF. It would appear, however, that as both portals are unmarked that either they were not too accurate or dummy bombs were used.
