Geograph - photograph every grid square

For a short time in early 1981 Crickadarn became 'East Proctor' - a fictional Yorkshire village in the film 'An American Werewolf in London'. The scene where the farmhand is imploring the doctor in the torrential rain is possibly the most recognisable because of the church backdrop but you won't find the Slaughtered Lamb Inn nor the strange statue which stood in the village square here. These were sets designed presumably to make the place feel even more foreboding, not that it was really needed! The Slaughtered Lamb has over time become a generic phrase for any inhospitable hostelry which is off the beaten track and devoid of atmosphere.
