Well Hall Pleasaunce

The Pleasaunce is a public park on Well Hall Road in Eltham. It takes its name from an 18th century moated manor house that stood on the site until 1931 and was from 1899-1922 the home of the author Edith Nesbit.

The park now includes formal gardens, fountains, a bowling green, picnic area, an interesting variety of trees, and the Tudor Barn which is now a restaurant. It is managed by Greenwich Council as successors to the former Borough of Woolwich under whose three-times Mayor, William Barefoot, it was opened to the public.
