The Ridgeway: eastward towards Scutchamer Knob
The earthwork known as Scutchamer Knob - said to be a round barrow - is hidden among the trees on the south side of the Ridgeway.
Visiting for the first time, I'd describe the Knob as a horse-shoe shaped bank, with the open end on the north side, nearest the Ridgeway. The highest portion is at the southern end, where the bank is said to be 11 feet high. At mid-summer the whole thing was very much overgrown, but I'd say that the interior - the area enclosed by the bank - is sunken rather than domed.
Wildflowers I happened to notice along this stretch included poppies, silverweed, wild mignonette and black medick. The 'sound track' would have to include the songs of yellowhammer, goldfinch and linnet.
