VT2 redevelopment, Belfast harbour :: J3677
Some photographs showing the redevelopment of the Victoria Terminal 2 (VT2), Belfast harbour, used by the Stena Belfast - Liverpool ferries.

“Belfast Harbour has committed to investing £15m to re-develop Victoria Terminal 2 (VT2) which services the Belfast-Liverpool route.  The project will enable the terminal to handle the next generation of modern RoRo (Roll-On / Roll-Off) ferry vessels . . . . . . The project is part of Belfast Harbour’s long-term investment strategy in Port infrastructure.  It follows a recent £1.5m investment that increased VT2’s landside capacity and improved its entrance and accessibility in preparation for the arrival of the new vessels in early 2020” - Belfast Harbour press release 9 May 2019.

“Stena Edda is scheduled to enter service on the Belfast-Liverpool route in spring 2020. This is the second of three new E-Flexer vessels bound for the Irish Sea during 2020 and 2021 which represents a significant multi-million pound investment by Stena Line in the region. The ‘float out’ ceremony started at 13.18 hrs local Weihai [China] time today (15th April) and at 18.00 Stena Edda floated out of the dock. The timings were chosen especially because 18 is a number associated with good fortune in China” - Stena press release 15 April 2019.
