This was the main road to Kyle of Lochalsh and Skye before 1957 when Loch Loyne to the south of here was enlarged through the building of a dam at the north east end. The old route was then flooded and a new line, now used by the A87 was constructed further east. One can still walk or cycle both northern and southern ends of this road, but the gate, seen in this photo bars the way for motorists, the road having been taken over by the local estate.
There has been a "Deer cul in progress sign" here for the last few months (Nov10 - Jan11) . Poor deer , they are at it 24/7. In reality, more non compliant, nonsense which will do the estate more harm than good.
