Cavendish Cavendish is a village and civil parish in the Stour Valley in Suffolk. It is 11 miles from Bury St Edmunds and 14 miles from Newmarket. It was home to Sir John Cavendish Link (ancestor of the Dukes of Devonshire) who was involved in suppressing the Peasants' Revolt Link .
