Although described on the Ordnance Survey map as a "dismantled tramway" I think this was technically a railway as it was operated by a petrol locomotive. It was built in the 1930s and ran for approximately 1.5 miles between Stornoway waterworks and Loch Mòr an Stàrr. It was used to transport materials during the conversion of the loch into a reservoir for the waterworks and for subsequent maintenance works. It was closed in the 1960s.
