Pipe Organ at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum
Pipe Organ at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum
This photo shows the organ at the end of the Centre Hall which was installed there in 1902. Previously, it was commissioned for the Glasgow International Exhibition held in Kelvingrove Park nearby in 1901. The organ has pipes and a walnut front just for show, the 2,889 pipes that actually produce the sound being out of sight behind the facade. Recitals take place on this organ on Mondays to Saturdays at 1.00pm, and on Sundays at 3.00pm.
