Cogden Beck suffered a flash flood
On the 30th July 2019 86mm of rain fell in the space of 3hrs on Grinton Moor, Fremington and in Arkengarthdale, it caused landslips, several becks to burst their banks and the River Arkle to carry away bridges, flooding houses, washing away walls and damaging many of the regions lead mining remains.
