In 1981 the small coaster “Burgundia” outbound Coleraine for Portugal with 400 tonnes of seed potatoes went ashore on the beach at Castlerock near the Barmouth C7836 : The Barmouth near Castlerock. Aground for about a month, she became quite an attraction. The potatoes were discharged to lorries, the ship later caught fire, was declared a total loss and ended up being scrapped at Troon.
