Paisley Coats Observatory
Paisley Coats Observatory
Named for Thomas Coats of the famous thread manufacturing company, who financed its construction, the Coats Observatory has operated since 1882. It forms part of the Paisley Museum and offers weekly public night sky viewing events, visits by schools and other groups, etc. - a resource of great, continuing value for STEM education. The building is "A" listed. It is currently closed for refurbishment but will re-open to the public in 2022.
