TL2985 : Abbey Gatehouse, Ramsey, Cambs

taken 5 years ago, near to Ramsey, Cambridgeshire, England

Abbey Gatehouse, Ramsey, Cambs.
Abbey Gatehouse, Ramsey, Cambs.
This C15th gatehouse, belonging to the National Trust dominates the south side of Abbey Green. Only the porter's lodge now remains although the gatehouse still acts as the primary entrance to Abbey House. In the distance are a cluster of Grade-listed almshouses dating from 1839 plus the boys' wing and the girls' wing of a former church school with the master's house at its centre, topped by a bell turret.
