This is the site of the former Kimberley Brewery having been mostly cleared for housing. In the middle of the picture is the former Kimberley Midland Railway Station which has been converted into two cottages. In the background is a tower which was part of the Kimberley brewery.
The photographs taken of the large grassed area with a young children’s play park was ALWAYS known as Door One, presumably due to the house which used to be in the trees many years ago. The area has become much smaller over the years due to the Estate built at the top of the hill. I have NEVER heard the name of Queen Elizabeth II Diamond fields and I have no idea about a nature reserve. As I said, anyone who grew in Kimberley back in the good old days has always called it Door One.
